Fresh UI for popular cloud-based property management software

After being involved with the marketing communication arm of a popular online property management tool for 6 months, I was asked to return for a visual and functional redesign of the website. This lined up with broader redesigns that were taking place in the parent property portal company on the whole, for which I had been developing email and banner campaigns.

Working in a dedicated team, I delivered the new site design in two weeks, ready to build out. My function was to help redevelop the user interface and experience of the existing site, merging historical SEO data with new requirements that the site had to fulfill, and then to design out every page with an updated visual language.

I created wireframes using Figma, planning out sections and user journeys, setting up visual hierarchy of headings and other elements, and resolving the mobile layout. The design was done in such a way that would make it as clear as possible for the developer to build; to this end, I defined style sheets early on, and worked within their parameters as far as possible, clearly indicating where deviations had to be put in place.

Once the framework was done, I set about adding content from the writers, incorporating new fonts, colours and visual shapes that were developed in conjunction with the other creatives, to produce a cohesive composition of pages that worked together to carry the new brand and sit comfortably within the wider property group.

The designs were then handed over, and the site was built and launched a few weeks later.
